Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary :

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and delivering complex electrical designs for power, lighting, and low-voltage systems. This role ensures technical accuracy, compliance with codes and standards, and seamless coordination with other disciplines. The Senior Electrical Engineer also provides guidance to junior team members and supports the Electrical Design Lead in achieving project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Design Development

• Prepare and review detailed designs for power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

• Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and equipment sizing.

• Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and client requirements.

2. Coordination & Integration

• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams for integrated designs.

• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes.

• Resolve technical conflicts and implement solutions in a timely manner.

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and calculation reports.

• Maintain version control and organized documentation.

• Support project submissions, client presentations, and technical meetings.

4. Mentoring & Team Support

• Guide and mentor electrical graduate engineers.

• Share technical knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned.

• Assist Electrical Design Lead in planning resources and allocating tasks.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Conduct design checks and internal reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Identify potential risks in electrical designs and propose corrective measures.

• Maintain adherence to company standards, codes, and client specifications.

Qualifications, skills and requirements 

• 5–8 years of experience in electrical design within MEP or construction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

• Proficiency in electrical design software and BIM tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, ETAP, DIALux).
